Windy City ThunderBolts Open This Weekend For 2018 Season

CRESTWOOD, IL -- Get ready for another exciting season of professional minor league baseball. The Windy City ThunderBolts open with a bang -- literally -- this weekend at Standard Bank Stadium in beautiful downtown Crestwood. The ‘Bolts take on the River City Rascals from O’Fallon, MO, May 10 through May 12 in the first homestand 2018.

Thursday, May 10, 7:05 p.m. -- Opening night gets underway with the ‘Bolts facing off against their Frontier League rival the River City Rascals. Standard Bank Stadium is also introducing its new and improved Bud Light “Thirsty Thursday” with specials on both domestic and craft beer, including $1.50 Bud, Bud Light and Mic Ultra 12 oz. drafts, $2.25 16 oz. cans and $3.75 30-oz. drafts; and $3 craft cans. The first 500 fans through the gate will get a "Microfiber Schedule Cloth" courtesy of AJ Smith Federal Savings Bank. As always, kiddos get to run the bases after every home game.

Friday, May 11, 7:05 p.m. -- The ‘Bolts will celebrate the first fireworks night of season with a SUPER MEGA post-game fireworks spectacular presented by Lumina Pyrotechnics. This is the first of super mega fireworks shows planned for the 2018 season. This can’t miss show will be bigger and longer. Also, AJ Smith Federal Savings Bank will be handing out some more “Microfiber Schedule Cloths” to the first 500 fans through the gate.

Saturday, May 12, 6:05 p.m. -- It’s South Side Irish Night at the old ballpark, with the well known South Side Celtic band “Three Men in Kilts” performing a pre-game concert from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. behind home plate. The good times will continue with corned beef, green beer and more served all night long. And wait there’s more “Microfiber Schedule Cloths” going to the first 500 fans, so if you didn’t get one Thursday or Friday, this is your chance.

The 2018 season features 18 postgame fireworks shows after every Friday home game. Each night will have a different theme, including Beatles, Star Wars, Princess, Elvis and more.
