East Alton woman charged with intent to deliver methamphetamine (thetelegraph.com) — An East Alton woman has been charged in Madison County with a Class X felony for allegedly possessing more than 15 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. Authorities say the charges, filed in mid-July and unsealed after her arrest, stem from a June 1 incident, and they emphasize she remains innocent unless proven guilty in court.
   

3. Carrollton man charged after Alton child solicitation sting (thetelegraph.com) — Alton police have charged a Carrollton man after an online predator-hunting group arranged a sting at the Walgreens on Washington Avenue, where he allegedly arrived to meet someone he believed was a minor. Prosecutors say explicit messages, travel to Alton, and items he brought to the meeting support multiple felony counts, while emphasizing he remains innocent unless proven guilty in court.
   

4. Marvin "Marv" Wayne Miller, 79 (vp-mi.com) — Alton natives may remember Marvin “Marv” Miller, who grew up here, graduated from Alton High School in 1964, and went on to a long forestry career in Montana. The 79-year-old, described as a quiet, witty outdoorsman devoted to family, died of natural causes in Nevada, with a private memorial planned later in Montana.
   

5. Darren Perdun leads Jersey baseball to first 20-win season in a decade (thetelegraph.com) — Jersey baseball coach Darren Perdun capped his team’s first 20-win season in a decade with a 7–1 road victory over Alton that marked his 250th career win at the school. The senior-heavy Panthers reached the regional final and narrowly missed a statement win over powerhouse Edwardsville, setting a high bar for returning underclassmen.
