Council members, however, continue pressing for more transparency and oversight of legal billing and mayoral appointees, raising questions about records, contracts, and how closely the administration is being monitored.

• Alton Police Step Up Enforcement in City Parks (riverbender.com) — Alton Police are tightening enforcement of park rules, including no after-hours use, no trash dumping outside cans, and no gambling in recreation areas. Dogs are also barred from Hellrung and James H. Killion parks unless they are trained service animals, as officers respond to complaints from neighbors and Park Commissioners.
