Numerous agencies responded to a 911 call of three people in distress Thursday afternoon when they found the two men dead at the scene. The townhouse was evacuated but later reopened to residents.

No indication has been given as to the cause of the hazardous situation, and reports indicate oxygen levels appeared to be normal and nothing unusual was detected in the water supply.

Harrison Street, from Dee Road to Potter Ave., had been closed during the situation - which occurred near Apollo Elementary School and a building that houses the Illinois State Police, Illinois Department of Revenue, Illinois Lottery and Property Tax Appeal Board offices.

The area has since reopened.
