2 Students Injured In Arlington Heights Bus Accident: Police

The Wednesday morning accident involving a bus for students with special needs and a pickup truck shut down Lake Cook Road.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Two students with special needs were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries Wednesday morning following a bus accident involving a pickup truck. The accident at the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Bloomington Avenue happened at around 9:30 a.m., according to police.

The eastbound side of Lake Cook Road was shut down for a short period of time, but has since reopened, police tell Patch.

Police said all parents of the students have been notified, with several being on scene. The bus involved was one of the smaller buses designed specifically for special needs students.
