$2K In Fragrances Stolen At Walgreen: Arlington Heights PD Blotter

The male and female accused of the theft left the store in a maroon van, according to police.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. ARRESTS

VIOLATION OF BAIL BOND

Yang Sung Park, of the 700 block E. Golf Road, Arlington Heights, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 5:06 p.m. Dec. 6, at the Arlington Heights Police Department. Bond was set at $2,000.

BATTERY

Thomas A. Pearce, 35, of the 1000 block of S. Fernandez Avenue, Arlington Heights, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 5:40 p.m. Dec. 9, in the 900 block of W. Kirchoff Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 7, 2025.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Christopher Sawyers, 56, of the 40 block of N. Vail Avenue, Arlington Heights, is accused of possession of controlled substance, driving under the influence of drugs, and was arrested at 2:44 p.m. Dec. 10, at Lutheran General. He was released and assigned a court date of Dec. 19.

DRIVING ON A REVOKED/SUSPENDED LICENSE

Olga Tychina, 43, of the 500 block of Fairway View Drive, Wheeling, is accused of driving on a revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 9:21 p.m. Dec. 10, at Wilke Road north of Rand Road. She was released and assigned a court date of Dec. 13.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee at Brookhaven Market, 450 E. Golf Road, reported at 2:15 p.m. Dec. 2, someone had stolen a 12 pack of Red Bull and a bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce. The person was described as a male between 20 and 30 years old, wearing camo overalls and a red jacket.
  • An employee at Walgreens, 3 E. Golf Road, reported at 9:05 p.m. Dec. 2, two people stole over $2,000 worth of fragrances. The pair, who left in a maroon van, were described as: male, medium build, black hair, wearing a black shirt and pants; female, black hair, wearing a gray sweater, gray pants and a beanie.

BURGLARY

Police responded to an alarm at Ulta, 13 W. Rand Road, at 2:15 a.m. Dec. 4, and discovered the front window had been broken. A check of the interior revealed the display cases were shattered and several fragrances were missing. A review of the security cameras showed three people dressed in all black force entry in to the store, break the display cases and steal multiple items. They arrived and left in a white Audi SUV.

THEFT

  • A customer at Jewel, 1860 S. Arlington Heights Road, reported at 2:40 p.m. Dec. 4, someone stole her wallet from her purse and subsequently made unauthorized purchases with her credit cards.
  • A citizen reported that between 4 a.m. and 10 p.m. Dec. 7, someone had stolen multiple packages located inside the vestibule in the 0-10 block of S. Dryden Avenue. The total value of the packages was $595.
  • A citizen reported at 11:45 a.m. Dec. 7, someone had stolen his wallet from his back pocket at the Arlington Heights Library and subsequently attempted to use his credit card to make unauthorized purchases. The person was described as female, approximately 6 foot tall, heavy set, with blonde shoulder-length hair, wearing thick dark rimmed glasses and a white winter coat.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A citizen called police to report that during the overnight hours of Dec. 8 someone had damaged the rear windshield on her gray Chevrolet while parked in a parking lot in the 20 block of N. Dryden Avenue.
