4th of July Parade Watchers: Wait Until Night Before to Reserve Your Spots

Arlington Heights officials are asking residents to wait until 7 p.m. July 3 before claiming spots to watch the parade.

Arlington Heights, IL—City officials understand that residents want to stake out the best vantage points for Frontier Days' annual Fourth of July parade.

But they're asking parade-watchers not to start reserving their viewing spots along the parkways aligning the route until 7 p.m. Sunday, July 3, according to a city press release.

In past years, residents have routinely claimed viewing territory with blankets, tarps, chairs and other items. That has damaged landscaping and caused other problems for homeowners who need access to the parkways.
