5 for 5: Arlington Heights Library Ranks Among Top in Nation
Listed among the top libraries in the country, Arlington Heights Memorial Library earns five-star ranking from the Library Journal for the fifth year in a row.

For the fifth year in a row, the Arlington Heights Memorial Library received a five-star rating, the top score from the Library Journal's national public library ratings.
According to the rankings released Thursday, Nov. 8, Arlington Heights Memorial is one of only 30 libraries in the country to receive this distinction for all five years that the Library Journal has named Star Libraries.
After receiving the honor, the library posted the following message on the AHML webpage, “This award speaks to the tremendous support we receive every day from you, our five-star community!”

In the expenditure range of $10 million to $29.9 million, the milestone was scored based on circulation, visits, program attendance and public internet use per capita.
According to the LJ Index of Public Library Service 2012, the numbers from Arlington Heights Memorial Library are listed below:

- Visits per capita - 11.4
- Program Attendance per capita - 0.58
- Public Internet Terminal Uses per capita - 2.2
This year, a total of 20 libraries made the Library Journal's list of star libraries in Illinois. AHML is one of just five libraries in the state to achieve five-star ranking in 2012.
