Aldi Plans Grand Opening Event for New Palatine Store

PALATINE, IL — Almost five months after it received unanimous approval from the Village Board for its new location at the Deer Grove Crossing Shopping Center, Aldi will hold a grand opening for the store Thursday, Aug. 25.

The discount grocery chain's 20,000-square-foot Palatine store, 761 E. Dundee Road, replaces the storefront at the shopping center formerly occupied by Staples. Aldi's addition means the shopping center has all its major storefronts filled.

Aldi's will be offering free samples and prizes as part of the grand opening. Shoppers also will have a chance to win free produce for a year, and the first 100 customers will receive a variety of Aldi gift certificates.
