Arlington Alfresco Showcases Outdoor Dining, Summer Concerts In Downtown Arlington Heights

The pedestrian-only downtown dining district returns Friday with concerts starting June 4 in Harmony Park.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Arlington Alfresco will return to downtown Arlington Heights on Friday, turning the area around Vail Street and Campbell Avenue into a pedestrian-only dining and business district.

The seasonal setup will feature more than 20 locally owned restaurants with expanded outdoor seating, according to the village. The family-friendly destination is built around downtown shops, restaurants and an open-air experience.

The village reported Arlington Alfresco welcomed more than 360,000 visitors in 2025.

"Arlington Alfresco has become a wonderful part of downtown Arlington Heights, bringing people together to enjoy our local restaurants and the energy of our community," Mayor Jim Tinaglia said. "It's something we look forward to each year, and I’m excited to welcome residents and visitors back for another great season."

Live music will return this summer through the Village's Sounds of Summer Concert Series, presented by Schwabe Group at Compass Real Estate. The 25th anniversary season begins June 4, with free concerts scheduled on Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. through Aug. 27 in Harmony Park. The June 4 opener will be Music with the Mayor, featuring Tinaglia's band, Exit 147. Guests are encouraged to bring non-food essentials, including hygiene items and diapers, for on-site donation to Elk Grove and Wheeling townships. The village said local Scouts will help with collections and take part in a Posting of the Colors ceremony.

Visitors are reminded that Arlington Alfresco is pedestrian-only, and bicycles and e-bikes must be walked through the area. Parking will be available in nearby municipal lots and garages, including Sigwalt and Arlington Heights Road and the Village Hall Garage after 5 p.m., according to the village.
