ID Of Strangled Schaumburg Woman Released: Cook County Medical Examiner

A man was taken into custody Thursday after the 43-year-old resident was found dead in her home.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — The identity of a 43-year-old Schaumburg woman found dead in her home Thursday has been released. Katherine Torbick died from wounds sustained after being strangled in a homicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

During a well-being check at her home in the 1700 block of Weathersfield Way, police discovered Torbick deceased at around 9:20 p.m. Thursday. A man, who police say was known to the victim, was also found inside and taken into custody.
