ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — An apartment fire that left two units uninhabitable last week remains under investigation. Crews from Mount Prospect, Schaumburg and Elk Grove Village assisted in fighting the fire in the 400 block of East Seegers Road.

According to officials, the Arlington Heights Fire Department responded to a large apartment complex at around 3 a.m. for a report of a fire on a second floor balcony. The first arriving units were met by a resident of the unit, who directed them to the second floor. The crews found moderate smoke conditions in the second-floor hallway and the fire unit. The fire was located and extinguished in the exterior wall near an HVAC unit.

There were no occupants or firefighters injured during the incident. Fire damage was limited to
the second-floor exterior wall. The units deemed uninhabitable were so due to fire and water
damage.
