Arlington Heights District 25 Explores Bilingual Program

More information on the new program is expected to be presented at a March school board meeting, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Arlington Heights School District 25 is working on creating a bilingual program to assist those who do not speak English.

Some type of bilingual services is required under state law for schools that have more than 20 students who "share the same native language," according to the Chicago Tribune.

District 25 has three schools that fit that criteria: Ivy Hill Elementary School, where at least 20 students speak Hindi and Spanish; Windsor Elementary School, where students speak Spanish; and Dryden Elementary School, where students speak Polish, according to the Tribune.
