Arlington Heights Man Tries to Recapture Costs for Public Road, Water Main

Karl Steinle built a public road and water main to connect to his $1.5 million home on the north side of town and is now fighting the village over how much they owe him for the improvements, according to the Chicago Tribune.

An Arlington Heights man who built a public water main and road for his $1.5 million home at 2106 N. Ridge Avenue is fighting the village over how much they owe him for his work, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Since three other properties will utilize the road and water main, Karl Steinle will be able to "recapture" some of the cost for those improvements, according to the article.

At issue is just how much the village, which will serve as the collector, owes Steinle. Steinle originally billed the village $220,000 for the improvements but Arlington Heights has since determined Steinle should only be able to collect around $92,000, according to the Chicago Tribune.
