Arlington Heights Resident Makes Another Push for Term Limits Referendum
Bill Gnech wants to see elected officials only serve a maximum of two, four-year terms, according to the Daily Herald.

An Arlington Heights resident is taking steps toward getting a referendum on term limits on the 2014 ballot with the hopes of seeing elected village officials only serve two, four-year terms, according to the Daily Herald.
Bill Gnech collected over 2,700 signatures prior to the 2013 election but his term limits referendum was thrown out by the village election boards due to various issues, according to the article.
The petition objector had three issues with Gnech's 2013 petition, which included that the referendum was not stated in the form of a question, that a definitive description of who the term limits explicity applied to was not provided and a date was not included as far as when term limits would be made effective, or if they would be retroactive, according to Patch. There were also other legality issues with the petition.
Bill Gnech recently posted an announcement on Arlington Heights Patch seeking residents to assist with collecting signatures in front of the library on Aug. 17 from 12 to 1 p.m.
