What are the reasons you chose to run for Arlington Heights trustee?

I believe I add real world financial experience and common sense to the Village Board. I say things that need to be said.

What are the top 2-3 issues facing the village of Arlington Heights, and how do you plan on addressing them?

(1) We need to hold the line on taxes and yet maintain village fiscal stability and essential services. Village finances are improved with the addition of (sales) tax generating properties. (2) The July 2011 storm exposed areas still prone to flooding. Effective solutions should be pursued which would provide reasonable relief.

What improvements, if any, would you like to see in the way that the village of Arlington Heights is run?

I believe that the village is run reasonably well; but in any organization there is always room for improvement. The Board has made a goal of streamlining village processes. We have increased transparency through increased internet viewing of minutes and meetings.

Additional comments, any other relevant information to your candidacy you would like voters to know about you.

I was instrumental in achieving a "virtual no increase" tax levy a number of years ago.

I was an advocate of the program creating a partnership between homeowner organizations and the village to treat ash trees, hopefully saving them from the Emerald Ash Borer.
