Bartlett Tree Experts Names Arlington Heights Resident Scott Jamieson Midwest Division Manager

Scott Jamieson, a VP of Bartlett Tree Experts, is named Midwest division manager. He now also leads eight offices in a five-state region.

Scott Jamieson, a vice president of Bartlett Tree Experts, has been named Midwest Division Manager. Previously overseeing corporate partnerships for Bartlett and the company’s Bartlett Inventory Solutions division, Jamieson now also leads eight offices distributed through the five-state region of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Minnesota.

He takes the baton from Michael Robinson, the previous Midwest Division Manager who recently retired after serving Bartlett and the tree care industry for more than 40 years.

“Mike has laid such a solid foundation for us to build on,” Jamieson said. “It’s an exciting time. There’s great momentum going.

“One direction we’ll continue to focus on is growing our commercial sector. Bartlett has individuals across the country dedicated to commercial clients, who have markedly different service needs than residential clients. We have one focused largely on Chicago right now.”

Jamieson is a 30-year veteran of the tree care industry. He spent nearly 20 of those years at The Care of Trees, the last ten of which were as president and CEO. Under his leadership, the company grew 112%, from $20 million in revenues to $52 million.

Enneagram for Leadership Development

Growing The Care of Trees also meant providing growth opportunities for employees. One of the tools Jamieson introduced in his effort to provide a corporate culture of growth and enrichment was the Enneagram, a leadership and life-skills tool. Not only did this benefit the company, but it made an impact professionally and personally on employees, some of whom have years later said how much they gained from the training and still draw on it. (See accompanying Enneagram stories.)

Jamieson has already incorporated Enneagram training companywide at Bartlett, presenting a regular workshop on it as part of the company’s weeklong leadership program. “There’s no question we will use it in our Midwest Division,” he said. “We’re growing people, growing leaders.”

Industry Involvement

Jamieson is president of the National Association of Landscape Professionals. He is past chair of the Tree Care Industry Association board of directors and has served on the boards of the Alliance for Community Trees, the National Safety Council, and the Illinois State Urban Forestry Council, among others.

He has an MBA from DePaul University, an MS in Forestry from Michigan State University and a BS in Forestry from Purdue University.

Founded in 1907 by Francis A. Bartlett and in its third generation of family management, Bartlett Tree Experts (www.bartlett.com) has pioneered the science and services that make landscapes thrive. With offices in 27 U.S. states, Canada, Ireland and Great Britain, the company’s tree care experts provide a rare mix of local service, global resources and innovative practices that lead the industry. Distinguished by having its own tree research laboratory, Bartlett is the only private company in the National Plant Diagnostic Network, a consortium of government agencies and universities providing rapid diagnosis of plant pests and diseases. Bartlett is the presenting sponsor of The Morton Arboretum Plant Clinic.
