ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police.   • Sandra Burke, 27, of the 1000 block of W Clarendon Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 3:02 a.m. July 11 at E Palatine Road and N Arlington Heights. She was given a court date of Aug. 24.
  • Carl J. Stack, 35, of the 1100 block of Russetwood Court, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 5:31 p.m. 5: p.m. July 12 in the 1700 block of Rand Road. He was given a court date of July 31.
  • Stanislaw Miroslaw Moskal, 49, of the 9400 block of Lawrence Court, Schiller Park, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 2:30 a.m. July 12 on I-90 near Arlington Heights Road. He was given a court date of Aug. 24.

RETAIL THEFT

  • Ronnie F. Flowers, 56, of the 14000 block of S Normal Avenue is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 2:05 p.m. July 11 in the 100 block of S Vail Street. He was given a court date of Aug. 18.
  • Vullnet Miraka 49, of the 4700 block of Carr Street, Rolling Meadows, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested 2:38 p.m. July 14 in the 900 block of W Algonquin Road. He was given a court date of Aug. 26.

BATTERY

  • Sheldon Hubbard, 20, of the 300 block of Round Hill Court, Boilingbrook, is accused of three counts of battery, resisting a police offer, and was arrested at 5:57 p.m. July 14 in Arlington Heights. He was given a court date of Aug. 18.
  • Alan D. Plakota, 54, of the 1700 block of N Drury Lane, Arlington Heights, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 8:14 p.m. July 14 in Arlington Heights. He was given a court date of July 30.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Alexander H. Szypulski, 27, of Arlington Heights, is accused of domestic battery, interfering with a report of domestic violence, and was arrested at 9:15 a.m. July 16.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

  • A person reported at 7:15 a.m. July 17 that someone took all four tires from a vehicle parked overnight in the Sullivan Buick GMC parking lot in the 700 block of W Dundee Road. A nearby chain-link fence was cut and pulled back as a point of entry to the lot. The tires are valued at approximately $4,000.
  • Two unknown men concealed merchandise before leaving store without paying between 3-3:05 p.m. July 13 at Valli Produce, 400 E Golf Road. The first man is described as Hispanic, wearing a dark navy shirt, blue jeans and red gym shoes. The second man is described as Hispanic, wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt with a white T-shirt underneath, and gym shoes with white socks. The men were last seen leaving the area in a green Chevrolet Tahoe with silver, chrome wheels, tinted windows, and unknown Illinois license plate. The total retail value of the stolen merchandise is around $47.

RETAIL THEFT

  • Police were called at 8:46 a.m. July 16 from the BP Gas Station, 2250 S Arlington Heights Road. An unknown man concealed merchandise for sale on his person before leaving the store without paying. The man is described as black, 5 feet and 6 inches, bearded, wearing a red face mask, white T-shirt, and blue jeans. The man was last seen leaving the area in a red Nissan Alitma with an Illinois license plate. The total retail value of the stolen merchandise is under investigation at this time.
  • Two men concealed merchandise before leaving the Speedway Gas Station, between 1:40-1:45 a.m. July 13 at 1902 N Arlington Heights Road. The men were last seen running from the store on foot. The total retail value of the stolen merchandise is under investigation.
  • An unknown woman concealed merchandise before leaving Jewel-Osco without paying between 7-7:30 p.m. at 440 E Rand Road. The woman is described as around 30 years old, wearing blue jeans and a tank top, with a tattoo on her right shoulder/upper arm. The total retail value of the stolen merchandise is $51.
  • An unknown man opened the cash register at Jewel-Osco and took around $220 after attempting to pay for the merchandise with a counterfeit $100 at 11:09 p.m. July 13 at 440 Rand Road.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • An unknown person damaged a Village utility box by using paint to deface the box. The discovery of the damage was made at 12:27 p.m. July 10 at Miner Street and Haddow Avenue. The cost of repairs is unknown at this time.
  • An unknown person took potted plants from outside a residence at 8 a.m. July 10 in the 300 block of W Miner Street. The total value of the potted plants is around $200.
  • An unknown person entered an empty business, Savers at 12:30 a.m. July 11 in the 700 block of W Dundee Road. Once inside the building, it appears the person was drinking alcohol and evidence of a recent party was observed by officers o the scene.
  • An unknown person damaged a mailbox in the yard of a resident between 8 a.m.-noon, July 14, in the 1300 block of N Arlington Heights.
  • An unknown person damaged the rear window of a person's car while it was parked between noon June 30 and noon July 14 at a business parking lot in the 300 block of 300 W Northwest Highway. The damage caused the window to shatter. It does not appear anything was taken from the vehicle. The cost to repair the damage is around $400.
  • An unknown person damaged string lights in the yard of a residence during the overnight hours of July 10-11 in the 1300 block of S Walnut Avenue. The cord to the lights was cut and one of the bulbs was shattered. The cost to repair the damage is unknown.

BURGLARY

An unknown person forcefully entered a resident's unit when they were not home between noon-6:30 p.m. July 15 at the Stonebridge Apartments, 900 W Rand Road. The front door frame was broken where the handle latch meets the frame and the door was not secure when the resident arrived home. It does not appear anything was taken from the residence despite evidence that entry was made into the residence by someone.
