Chicago Man Charged With Felony Burglary Of Biz: Mount Prospect P.D.
The 20-year-old was reportedly part of a group of five that burglarized the store in February.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A Chicago man is being charged with felony burglary in connection with a February incident at a business in the 2400 block of Oakton Street. Armond Adams, 20, of the 3100 block of West Fillmore St., Chicago, was arrested earlier this month and is due back in court on Sept. 29.
According to police, a 911 call was received at 1:51 a.m. Feb. 7, regarding a burglary in progress. The complainant, who was watching via security cameras at the business, saw five subjects inside the business. While officers were responding to the business, the complainant told them the offenders left the property in a black colored SUV.
Police discovered damage to one of the business' entrances and areas of the business were ransacked. The owner of the business responded and was able to identify property of the business had been taken by the offenders.

Police said they located potential DNA evidence at the scene. The evidence was sent to a crime lab, which determined the evidence containing the DNA sample taken from the burglary scene belonged to Adams. Detectives attempted to locate Adams multiple times at his residence, but were unsuccessful and an arrest warrant was issued.
On Sept. 2, Chicago police told the Mount Prospect Police Department they had Adams in custody. He was then taken to bond court and bond was set at $25,000.

Police said an investigation is ongoing to identify any additional offenders.
