Heins Receives Degree From Georgia Tech

Matthew Heins, of Arlington Heights, has earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Heins was among more than 5,300 undergraduate and graduate students to be presented Georgia Tech degrees during the Institute's 264th Commencement exercises May 5 - 6, 2023, at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Local Students Graduate From Carthage College

More than 620 students graduated from Carthage College, completing their degree requirements between February and May 2023. The recent graduates include these from your coverage area:

  • Isabella Burkard, of Arlington Heights, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
  • Ashley Dawson, of Arlington Heights, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

The Class of 2023 celebrated Commencement at Carthage from May 26 to 28.

Fiedler Graduates from Emerson College

Emerson College awarded approximately 1,058 undergraduate degrees during the 143rd commencement at Agganis Arena in Boston, MA on Sunday, May 14. Local students include:

Reich Makes Dean's List At RIT

David Reich, of Arlington Heights, was named to the Dean's List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. Reich is in the electrical engineering program. Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

6,400-plus Huskers named to spring Deans' List

More than 6,400 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans' List for the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year. Qualification for the Deans' List varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the Explore Center. Listed below are the minimum requirements for each entity and the name of its respective dean or director. All qualifying grade-point averages are based on a four-point scale and a minimum number of graded semester hours. Students can be on the Deans' List for more than one college. Following is a list of area honorees, listed alphabetically by hometown, with their year in school, college(s) and major(s). Some international students are listed under their adopted hometowns in the United States. Some students chose not to be listed.

University of Mississippi Celebrates May 2023 Graduates

More than 3,100 students graduated from the University of Mississippi in May. Undergraduate and graduate candidates received degrees from the College of Liberal Arts, General Studies and schools of Accountancy, Applied Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Journalism and New Media, Law and Pharmacy. Local students include:
