William Hartman named to DePauw University's Tiger Pride Honor Roll

William Hartman, of Arlington Heights, is one of the 286 DePauw student-athletes named to the Tiger Pride Honor Roll for achieving at least a 3.40 grade point average for the 2021 spring semester. The Honor Roll, started in the 2012 fall semester by Stevie Baker-Watson, DePauw's associate vice president for campus wellness and Theodore Katula director of athletics and recreational sports, recognizes DePauw student-athletes who are members of an NCAA varsity athletics team and have a semester grade point average of 3.40 or higher.

Kobayashi-Solomon Named to Knox College Dean's List for Spring Term

Mia Kobayashi-Solomon, of Arlington Heights, has been named to the Knox College Dean's List of distinguished students for the 2021 Spring Term. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have earned at least 2.5 credits in the term, with a grade point average of 3.6 or better (on a 4.0 scale). Kobayashi-Solomon's major is Anthropology & Sociology at Knox.

Cacini Makes Spring 2021 Dean's List at Adelphi University in New York

Grace Cacini, of Arlington Heights, has been named to Adelphi University's Spring 2021 Dean's List. Cacini was among a select group of outstanding students recognized by Adelphi's deans of Arts and Sciences, Education and Health Science, Business, Nursing and Public Health, Social Work and Psychology for superior academic performance. The list comprises full-time students-registered for 12 or more credits-who have completed at least nine graded credits and achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above for the semester. This recognition becomes part of the student's academic record and is entered into the individual's transcript.

Arlington Heights student selected for Carthage summer research program

Petula Walsh-Grant, of Arlington Heights, was among more than 35 students who were selected to conduct research with Carthage faculty through the 2021 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience. Walsh-Grant is participating in a project called Children's Understanding of Death and Afterlife in Different Cultures. SURE students spend 10 weeks on campus doing original research full time with a faculty mentor. They receive a stipend, on-campus housing, a meal plan, and a research budget. All SURE participants and faculty mentors meet weekly for lunch, during which students present their progress. At the end of the program, students are required to write a project report and display their findings at a poster session for the Carthage community.

Millikin University Spring 2021 Dean's List

Millikin University is pleased to announce the names of the outstanding undergraduates who have been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2021 semester. Students who attempt 12 graded credits during a fall or spring semester and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher earn Dean's List honors. Students earning a perfect 4.00 grade point average on 12 graded credits attempted to earn High Dean's List honors. Local students include:
