Augustana's Fahnoe Nominated For 'More than I Imagined' Series
Augustana College senior Lucas Fahnoe, a philosophy and neuroscience double major from Arlington Heights, was nominated to submit a 'More Than I Imagined' profile by Dr. Roman Bonzon, professor of philosophy. Annually, faculty nominate Augustana's seniors who have achieved remarkable academic or personal growth to appear in the college's 'More Than I Imagined' series. Read Fahnoe's profile at More Than I Imagined. Dr. Bonzon said Fahnoe is dedicated to self-improvement. "For several years Lucas and I have played a serious over-the-board chess game every week," said Dr. Bonzon. "In our first game, right before the end of his sophomore year, he lost to me. When we resumed playing during his junior and senior years, I have almost always lost to him. That perfectly describes him as a student as well: he explores, he studies, he thinks." After graduation, Fahnoe will teach English in Japan for a year through the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program before pursuing graduate studies at the intersection of philosophy and cognitive science.
