Congresswoman Duckworth Hosts When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: a Networking Event and Panel

Washington D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) hosted “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds”: a Networking Event and Panel at the Roselle Village Hall. This event was in collaboration with the Small Business Administration, the Women Business Development Center, Google and was hosted by the Village of Roselle. The event was an opportunity for businesswomen throughout the northwest suburbs of Chicago to network and access resources for building their own business. The Congresswoman was joined by over 40 women who were either already small business owners, or interested in starting their own business.
“Today, women play an expanded role in America’s workforce, in small and large businesses, and in our homes,” said Duckworth. “Almost half of all workers are women, and 40% of working women are the primary breadwinner in their family. The success of our nation relies on the economic prosperity and security of women.”
“I am so inspired to hear from so many women who are shattering the glass ceiling and achieving so much for their families, their communities and their country. The untapped potential of women in our country is one of our great resources and I’m excited to get to work helping them succeed.”
