D-214 Students Paint Locomotive in Celebration of 125th Anniversary
Prospect High School prepares their train to be displayed in Arlington Heights.
In celebration of the village of Arlington Heights' 125th anniversary, advanced art students in Barbara Shaffer's class painted one of the many locomotives that will be on display this summer in the "Trains on the Tracks" program.
Small locomotives were decorated by groups and business who purchased them, acknowledging the influence the railroad has had in establishing and helping the Arlington Heights community grow and flourish.
The program is similar to the celebratory decorated Chicago cows and Arlington Heights ponies that adorned streets in the city and village several years ago.

Prospect High School's sponsor is Bradish Associates, Ltd.
Prospect's locomotive will soon be displayed in front of the insurance agency, located at 215 North Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights.
