D25 Parents React to Proposal to Cut Odyssey Program

The Odyssey Program provides advanced classes for the district's gifted students.

Several Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 parents spoke in opposition to a proposal to cut the district's gifted program, Odyssey, at a board of education meeting Thursday, according to the Daily Herald.

A committee has been reviewing the district's advanced program and has suggested the district cut the Odyssey program, which pulls the district's gifted students from classrooms for advanced classes, and instead have teachers in the classroom offer different levels of education to all its students at the same time, according to the article.
