Department 'Was Not Aware' Of ICE Operation In Mount Prospect: Police

Mount Prospect police address online reports of a possible immigration-related operation Thursday morning in the village.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — Following reports on social media regarding a possible immigration-related operation Thursday morning, the Mount Prospect Police Department said it "was not aware" of the situation.

"Federal law enforcement agencies do not notify us prior to conducting any immigration related enforcement operations within the Village," Mount Prospect police said Thursday night. "As a reminder, the Illinois Trust Act prohibits Illinois law enforcement agencies from participating, supporting or assisting in any capacity with an immigration agent’s enforcement operations. The Mount Prospect Police Department adheres to this law."
