District 214, John Hersey High School Ranked Among Best in State: Rankings

Township High School District 214 recieved an "A" and John Hersey High School received an "A+" from Niche.

Arlington Heights schools received high ranks by Niche, which recently released its 2015 K-12 rankings.

Niche ranks more than 100,000 public and private schools and districts based on dozens of statistics and 27 million opinions from 300,000 students and parents. A full explanation on how Niche evaluates schools can be found on the organization’s website.

Arlington Heights public schools received an overall “A” grade as did Township High School District 214, which was ranked as the 23rd best school district in the state.

John Hersey High School received an “A+” -- Niche’s highest mark -- and was ranked as the 24th best high school in the state.

The rankings are based partially on reviews and Niche noted that John Hersey High received 155 reviews -- most of which were positive.

One recent high school graduate wrote: ”Most of the teachers really care about their students and the way they teach. They want the students to get a good grade and pass the class. They are knowledgeable, helpful, caring, supportive, interested in the topics they teach. Consistent in grading.”

Several Arlington Heights elementary and middle schools also received “A” grades in the rankings.

The rankings also look at schools with the “Best Teachers,” “Best Food,” “Best Sports,” ”Best Academics” and more.
