District 25 Teachers to Start School With No Contract

Terms of teacher's contract for the upcoming year is currently being negotiated, according to the Daily Herald.

Arlington Heights District 25 teachers will start school on Thursday without a contract, according to the Daily Herald.

The school district and the Arlington Teachers Association have been working since March to negotiate a new agreement, according to the district's website.

The teacher's contract expired on Aug. 15 and school board president David Page told the Daily Herald the teachers would continue working "under the terms of the previous contract" and a strike is not expected.

The Arlington Teachers Association consists of over 400 members, including teachers and numerous support staff, such as school nurses, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and the district's social worker, according to the teachers association website.
