Elk Grove Township Appoints Busse to Fill Clerk Vacancy-Accepting Applications to Fill Trustee Position
On August 31st the Elk Grove Township Board of Trustees appointed senior Trustee George Busse to fill the vacant Township Clerk position.

On Monday August 31st the Elk Grove Township Board of Trustees appointed senior Trustee George Busse to fill the vacant Township Clerk position. The vacancy was created when former Clerk Greg O’Brien resigned on August 10th citing a change in his home residence outside the Township.
“Greg O’Brien has served the residents of Elk Grove Township very well. He brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the job and his advice and counsel will be missed,” Township Supervisor Sweeney said. “Moving forward I know George Busse will do a great job as Clerk and I am looking forward to working with him in his new role.”
The appointment of Busse to the Clerk position has created a vacancy on the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees must now fill the Trustee vacancy and the board members are opening the process to the residents of Elk Grove Township. Individuals who are interested in filling the Trustee vacancy are asked to submit a letter of interest to the Township by the close of business (4:00 P.M.) on Friday October 2, 2015. The letter must contain the applicants name and address. In addition to the letter of interest applicants may include other documents, such as resumes, but they are not required.

In accordance with State Statutes any person appointed to fill this vacancy shall be a member of the same political party as the person vacating the office; in this case the Republican Party. The appointee shall establish his or her political party affiliation by his or her record of voting in Republican Party primary elections or by holding or having held an office in a Republican Party organization before appointment. If the appointee has not voted in a Republican primary election or is not holding or has not held an office in a Republican Party organization before the appointment, then the appointee shall establish his or her Republican Party affiliation by his or her record of participating in the Republican Party’s nomination or election caucus.
