Felony Charge For Downtown Building Burglary: Arlington Heights P.D.
The Chicago man was arrested after being seen trying to open locked doors to closed businesses downtown, according to police.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A 32-year-old Chicago man is being charged with felony burglary following an in incident Wednesday morning at a condominium building in the downtown area. Dartanyel Langston was arrested in connection with the incident in the 0-100 block of South Evergreen Street and is due in bond court Thursday.
According to police, security at the building called 911 at 7:06 a.m. to report an unauthorized person, later identified as Langston, entered their locked lobby overnight. Police said Langston allegedly rummaged through an office desk.
After police met with security and a condominium board representative, review of surveillance at the building showed the unlawful entry occurring at around 4 a.m. It reportedly showed Langston, dressed in a black-hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, white gym shoes and wearing a black mask, entering a resident-only restricted area.

The surveillance images showed Langston enter the area while pushing a bicycle. He is seen sitting at a desk in the office and removing items from various drawers, placing them in his backpack and pockets. The suspect left prior to being discovered.
At around 7:30 a.m., another 911 call alerted police to a suspicious person in the 200 block of E. Golf Road pulling on doors to closed businesses. A second team of responding officers located the suspect, still in the shopping plaza. Officers were aware of the suspect description provided by officers on S. Evergreen who viewed the surveillance images. Langston was arrested.

During a search of his person, police discovered the items missing from S. Evergreen and Langston allegedly made a spontaneous utterance admitting to taking those items from the condominium building.
