Former Harper College Wrestler Home Invasion Trial to Begin This Week
Kerin Ramirez, 21, of Addison faces charges stemming from a 2011 break-in at a Wood Dale police officer's home where he was shot. The trial was delayed last week due to flooding, the Daily Herald reports.

The trial of a former Harper College wrestler charged with breaking into an off-duty Wood Dale police officer's home in fall 2011 is set to go forward Tuesday after flooding last week delayed it, the Daily Herald reports.
Kerin Ramirez, 21, allegedly entered the officer's DuPage County home on September 24, 2011 and refused to leave, the Chicago Sun-Times reported, and after a physical altercation, the officer got ahold of a gun and shot Ramirez in the abdomen.
Ramirez's defense attorneys previously claimed he was drunk and mistakenly wandered into the officer's home, according to the Sun-Times.
