Funeral Arrangements Set for Ex-Wheeling Twp. Supervisor Michael Schroeder
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, and the funeral will be Thursday for the Arlington Heights native.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL—The funeral arrangements have been set for former Wheeling Township supervisor and lifelong Arlington Heights resident Michael Schroeder, who died Sunday after battling cancer. He was 61.

A visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at Harvest Bible Chapel, 800 Rohlwing Road.

Schroeder — a dentist who owned Arlington Heights Dental Group, a practice started by his father in 1954—was formerly Wheeling Township supervisor from 2001 until March 2016, when he stepped down to focus on his health. As supervisor, he received the 2004 Township Officials of Illinois Supervisor of the Year award.
Previously, Schroeder was elected as a trustee to the Arlington Heights Village Board, a term that lasted from 1989 to 1992, and he served as acting village president from 1992 to 1993.
