Graffiti With Racial Slurs Discovered Under Mt Prospect Bridge: Police

Police were alerted of the vandalism underneath the George Street bridge on New Year's Day.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A "substantial amount of graffiti," including racial slurs, was discovered on Jan. 1 underneath the George Street bridge, according to police. Police were alerted to the vandalism at around 2:45 p.m. and are continuing to investigate the incident.

An officer on patrol said the graffiti was found on the underside of the bridge where it crosses over Weller Creek. Eventually, the graffiti was removed by the Mount Prospect Public Works Department.

Police are asking anyone with information or video footage that might assist in identifying those involved can contact the department at 847-870-5656.
