Harper College Tuition Rates to Increase

The cost for one credit hour will go up by $2 beginning in the summer 2013 semester.

Harper College students will soon be paying more per credit hour.

The college’s board of trustees approved increasing tuition by $2 per credit hour beginning in the summer 2013 semester, the Daily Herald reports.

Tuition will increase from $106.50 to $108.50 per credit hour for in-district residents. Full-time students taking 12 credit hours per semester will now pay $1,302.

Officials at the community college say the tuition increase was necessary, partly due to the lack of funding from the state of Illinois.

Harper College District 512 includes all or portions of the following communities: 

Arlington Heights, Barrington, Barrington Hills, Buffalo Grove, Carpentersville, Deer Park, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, Fox River Grove, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Lake Barrington, Mount Prospect, North Barrington, Palatine, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg, South Barrington, Tower Lakes and Wheeling.
