Hintz Road Construction to Last Through Summer

The road project affects Hintz Road from Arlington Heights Road east to Milwaukee Avenue and will include lane reductions and subsequent delays through September.

If you need to travel on Hintz Road between Arlington Heights Road and Milwaukee Avenue, you may want to find an alternate route through September.

That's because a road construction project is currently underway in the four-lane section of Hintz Road, from Arlington Heights Road east to Milwaukee Avenue.

The work will cause rotating lane reductions and delays for drivers, according to Scott Shirley, director of public works for the Village of Arlington Heights.

The Cook County Highway Department is the lead agency on the project, but is working with affected municipalities, including Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove and Wheeling.

The project will include grinding and patching of the concrete pavement, and during staging and the pouring of concrete, Shirley said, traffic will be diverted by flaggers into oncoming lanes and delay times will be increased.
