Holiday Refuse Collection Dates in Arlington Heights

From the mountains of wrapping paper to the piles of broken ornaments, our trash and recycling bins tend to fill up quick around the holidays. Here's when the village will be out to pick up refuse in Arlington Heights. .

The garbage and recycling collection schedule for the has changed for the holidays. Please review the following information on refuse collection changes for the holidays as well as pick-up days for Christmas Trees.

For residences north of Oakton Street: garbage will be collected on Monday, Dec. 24, garbage and recycling will be collected Friday, Dec. 28. For the New Year’s Day holiday, garbage will be collected Monday, Dec. 31 and garbage and recycling will be collected on Friday, January 4.

For residences south of Oakton Street: garbage will be collected on Wednesday, Dec. 26, garbage and recycling will be collected Saturday, Dec. 29. For New Year’s Day, garbage collection will be done Wednesday, Jan. 2 and Saturday, Jan. 5.

Collection of Christmas Trees: Christmas trees will be collected on your regular landscape collection day from Jan. 7 through Jan.15. Stickers are not necessary for Christmas trees. Plastic bags must be removed from trees.

Bags of late falling leaves and branch bundles can be placed at the curb with Christmas trees. Stickers are required on all bags and bundles, except for those participating in the Landscape Waste Subscription Program. Those in the program may place up to ten bags or bundles without stickers.

All Christmas garlands and wreaths must be disposed of as garbage. No sticker is required.
