HSBC Holdings to Move 1,500 Employees to Arlington Heights

The company plans to open a new office this spring on the former site of Nokia Siemens.

The North American unit of London-based HSBC Holdings plans to move into a new space on the former site of Nokia Siemens on the north side of Arlington Heights, the village announced Thursday.

The company will be transferring 1,500 employees to the new 162,000-square-foot office at 1421 W. Shure Drive in Arlington Heights with hopes of opening in the spring. Employees will be transferring from offices in Elmhurst and Mettawa over the course of several months, according to a village news release.

HSBC signed an 11-year lease agreement with Torburn Partners, which bought the five-building, 1.1 million-square-foot campus in Arlington Heights. The area is one of the village’s largest office campuses.
