Identity Of Pedestrian Killed In Mount Prospect Released

The 54-year-old man was struck by a car during the early morning hours of Sept. 19.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — The identity of a pedestrian killed Sept. 19 after being struck by an SUV on Algonquin Road (Route 62) near Linneman Road has been released. Police found Jose Bahena, no known current address, lying in the parkway at around 12:05 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to Mount Prospect police.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash. The investigation has found that a Chevrolet Trax was traveling eastbound Algonquin Road east of Linneman Road. Driven by a 58-year-old Des Plaines resident, the SUV struck Bahena, who was crossing Algonquin Road near 1449 E. Algonquin Road.

The driver of the Chevrolet Trax was not injured as a result of the crash.
