It’s Official, New Theater to Open in Arlington Heights

A new full-service dine-in theater, equipped with a full bar, plans to take over the .

The theatre will be fully operational and open to the public by late spring to early summer, according to Charles Perkins, director of planning and community development. 

The Village of Arlington Heights announced in a press release Friday a lease agreement has been finalized between Star Cinema Grill and LNR Partners, the property owner at 53 S. Evergreen Avenue.

Star Cinema Grill, a Houston-based company, plans to remodel the old Arlington Theaters to create a dine-in theater with a full service bar in Arlington Town Square.

At its three other locations, Star Cinema Grill presents first-run film releases and provides seat-side service to moviegoers. The theater/restaurant offers an extensive menu and a wide selection of beer, wine, and spirits served to guests as they sit back and enjoy the show.

The new theater is expected to employ up to 120 local residents during peak summer months, according to the release. 

As Patch previously reported, negotiations to fill the vacancy began in November, roughly four months after Arlington Theaters closed its doors. 

Now that the rental agreement has been finalized, Star Cinema Grill and LNR Partners will need to obtain permits from the village to remodel and open the theater.

Over the next few months Star Cinema Grill and LNR Partners will work with the Village of Arlington Heights to secure the necessary s, officials said.

Star Cinema Grill will then begin to remodel the theater, introducing new seating, décor, a full kitchen, and a state-of-the-art digital entertainment system.
