Local School Districts See Increase in Low-Income Student Population

Students in poverty can experience a variety of risk factors and issues, according to the Daily Herald.

Poverty rates have seen a drastic jump in suburban school districts from 2000 to 2012, according to the Daily Herald. 

Within Northwest High School District 214, the low-income student population increased by 9.3 percent from 2000 to 2012, according to the Daily Herald. In Arlington Heights District 25, the low-income population grew by 1.8 percent from 2000 to 2012, according to the article.
