Local Students Graduate From Denison University
Patch recognizes Arlington Heights residents achieving academically.

Arlington Heights natives were among the 513 graduates awarded diplomas at Denison University's 171st commencement held Sunday, May 13.
Colleen Patricia Henegan of Arlington Heights was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison by President Dale Thomas Knobel.
Henegan graduated with a major in environmental studies and a minor in English literature. She was awarded a Denison Founders Scholarship and a John Budd Long Jr. Journalism Award. Henegan was a senior fellow for the environmental studies program.

She studied off-campus for a semester with the International Partnership for Service Learning Program in Ecuador. Her senior research project was titled "Sustaining Las Encantadas: Ecotourism and Environmental Conflict in the Galapagos Islands."
Christopher David Olson of Arlington Heights was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison by President Dale Thomas Knobel.

Olson graduated with a major in Spanish. A consistent dean's list student, he received the Denison Founders Scholarship and the Walter T. Secor Memorial Scholarship. Olson studied off-campus with the Council on International Exchange Program in Spain.
He was active with the Humane Society, Denison Student Advisory Athlete Committee. Olson was a four-year starter and served as captain of the men's varsity soccer team. He earned all-conference honors for three seasons and received first-team All-NCAC and third-team All-Region.
He was honored with the NCAC Scholar Athlete Award, of which Denison honors one male and one felmale, during the James T. Glerum Jr. Top-50 Student-Athlete Banquet.
