Man Beats Pregnant Woman, Threatens Her With Gun: Mount Prospect P.D.

The 33-year-old Mount Prospect resident is accused of six felonies stemming from the incident that occurred last weekend.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A Mount Prospect man, accused of striking a pregnant woman and threatening her with a loaded gun, has been arrested and charged with six felonies.

According to the Mount Prospect Police Department, Antony Hernandez, 33, of the 300 block of West Enterprise Drive, is accused of two felony counts of aggravated battery, one felony count of domestic battery, two felony counts of unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, one felony count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Bond for Hernandez was set at $300,000 Wednesday in court. He is currently in custody at the Cook County Jail and is due back in court on Sept. 15.

According to police, the Aug. 20 incident occurred at Hernandez's apartment. Police responded to a 911 call at around 3:20 a.m. regarding a domestic battery report. Mount Prospect police met with officers from the Des Plaines Police Department, who were already on the scene. Police learned that Hernandez allegedly battered the pregnant victim multiple times, causing injuries to her face, while the two were in his apartment.

Hernandez also reportedly threatened the victim with a loaded gun during the altercation.

Police discovered a plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine, while conducting a search of Hernandez. An unspent bullet was also found, along with a gun and another bag containing a white powdery substance, during a consent search of the apartment.
