Man Charged With Murder In Hotel Homicide Investigation: Elk Grove Village PD

A 50-year-old woman, who police found dead outside a hotel earlier this week, was stabbed multiple times following a dispute.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — A Fox Lake man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a woman who was found deceased outside a hotel Wednesday morning. Arturo F. Taylor, 54, is due in court Saturday for detention hearing on the charge approved by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

Colleen Bagley, 50, also of Fox Lake, died from multiple sharp force injuries, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Her death was ruled a homicide.

At 4:18 a.m. Feb. 25, Elk Grove Village police and fire personnel responded to InTown Suites Extended Stay Chicago in the 2400 block of Landmeier Road after receiving a call that an unresponsive person had been found outside the hotel. Police located Bagley near a refuse dumpster.

Elk Grove police, along with the Major Crime Assistance Team, initiated an investigation. During the investigation, an acquaintance who was sharing a room with the victim was taken into custody by the Elk Grove Village Police Department. Police allege Taylor stabbed Bagley multiple times following a dispute in their hotel room. The incident is considered isolated, and authorities state there is no ongoing threat to the community.
