Man Found With Stolen Car, Guns: Arlington Heights PD Blotter

The 18-year-old was also in possession of illegal ammunition when he was arrested, according to police.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

RESISTING A PEACE OFFICER

Robert P. Alcantar III, 26, of the 20 block of W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of resisting a peace officer, and was arrested at 5:51 Oct. 4, in the 800 block of W. Algonquin Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 5.

RETAIL THEFT

  • Nadya M. Bayer, 73, of the 300 block of Redwing Drive, Deerfield, is accused of two counts of retail theft, and was arrested at 3:27 p.m. Oct. 6, at the Arlington Heights police station. She was released in both cases, one with a court date of Oct. 22 and the other is scheduled for Nov. 5.
  • David F. Verwiel, 55, of the 100 block of N. Central Avenue, Chicago, is accused of three counts of retail theft, and was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Oct. 6, in the 400 block of N. Hillside Avenue, Hillside. He was held overnight for a detention hearing the next day.

VIOLATION OF BAIL BOND

Sterling Burnett, 35, of the 100 block of S. Lockwood Avenue, Chicago, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 6 p.m. Oct. 2, in the 2200 block of S. Arlington Heights Road.

POSSESSION OF A STOLEN VEHICLE

Johnathan Al Garcia Canezales, 18, address unknown, is accused of possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, and was arrested at 8:26 p.m. Oct. 9, in the 1400 block of W. Golf Road, Rolling Meadows. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 14.

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE

Crescencian Hernandez Angeles, 29, of the 600 block of Hibbard Road, Wilmette, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, and was arrested at 8:40 p.m. Oct. 7, in the 3900 block of N. Wilke Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 22.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Adam Zarkov, 57, of the 1700 block of W. Madison Street, Park Forest, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 4:59 p.m. Oct. 3, at Golf and Arlington Heights roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 29.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

  • A resident of the 30 block of S. Evergreen Avenue reported that between 11:55 a.m. and 2:10 p.m. Sept. 29, someone had keyed the driver's side of her blue Honda.
  • A resident in the 1100 block of N. Hickory Avenue reported that during the overnight hours of Sept. 30, someone had shattered the rear window on her white Ford.
  • A resident in the 400 block of W. Rand Road reported that during the overnight hours of Oct. 1, someone had spray-painted the driver's side of his white Mercedes.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

  • An employee at Suburban Studios, 2120 S. Arlington Heights Road, reported at 4:35 a.m. Sept. 30, someone had stolen the catalytic converter off a blue Toyota and a black Hyundai. The person had left in a red four-door sedan.
  • A resident of the 700 block of E. Algonquin Road reported that during the overnight hours of Oct. 1, someone had stolen the catalytic converter off her white Hyundai.

THEFT

A citizen called police at 3:28 p.m. Oct. 2, to report his black Trek bicycle had been stolen from a bike rack in the 40 block of W. Northwest Highway. The person is described as a black male, wearing a red sweatshirt, bright green vest, and jeans. A second person involved is described as a white male, wearing a red St. Louis Cardinals t-shirt, blue jeans, carrying a blue backpack, stole a red bicycle.
