Man Jumps On Car Inside Wash, Found Crawling On Floor: Des Plaines PD

A felony charge of criminal damage to property was approved for the Rolling Meadows resident following the incident last month.

DES PLAINES, IL — A Rolling Meadows man is being charged with felony criminal damage to property following an incident last month in which he broke into a car wash and jumped on the hood of a car. Jorge Prado-Marron, 26, of the 4700 block of Arbor Drive, was arrested Friday and charged with criminal damage to property exceeding $500. He was released following his arrest.

According to police, officers responded to the business in the 700 block of Algonquin Road at 7 p.m. Jan. 29, for a report a man, later identified as Prado-Marron, had broken a window and was still inside the business. Police found Prado-Marron crawling on the floor of the car wash with blood on his hands and was reportedly drooling from the mouth.

After Prado-Marron was taken into custody, he was brought to the hospital by the Des Plaines Fire Department.

During the subsequent investigation, it was learned that Prado-Marron had entered the business by throwing a plant through a window. He then crawled through the broken window and jumped on the hood of a vehicle inside the car wash, proceeding to bang on the hood and windows of the vehicle.

Once released from the hospital, Prado-Marron was taken to the police department on Friday, arrested and released.
