Man 'Racks' Gun At Woman Pumping Gas: Arlington Heights PD Blotter

Two cars pulled up next to the woman as she was filling her car with gas, according to police.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

ARRESTS

VIOLATION OF BAIL BOND

Nubia Alvarado, 29, of the 400 block of E. Seegers Road, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 8:26 p.m. Sept. 16, in the 400 block of E. Seegers Road. Bond was set at $2,000.

PROSTITUTION

Young Ran Choi, 56, is accused of prostitution, and was arrested at 5:06 p.m. Sept. 20, in the 400 block of S. Arlington Heights Road. A court date of Nov. 7 was assigned.

VIOLATION OF ORDER OF PROTECTION

Kennyatta I. Church, 38, is accused of violation of order of protection, and was arrested at 6:04 p.m. Sept. 19, at Prairie Park, 1600 block of S. Belmont Avenue. Bond was set at $10,000 and a court date of Oct. 13 was assigned.

SPEEDING

A 21-year-old man is accused of speeding (35+mph over the speed limit), and was arrested at 12:27 a.m. Sept. 22, at E. Euclid Avenue and E. Rand Road. Bond was set at $2,500 and a court date of Oct. 11 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Rosa Jaimes-China, 22, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Sept. 20, at E. Palatine and N. Schoenbeck roads. Bond was set at $3,000 and a court date of Oct. 4 was assigned.

UNLAWFUL USE OF CANNABIS

Donameen Jones, 26, is accused of unlawful use of cannabis by a driver, failure to secure a child in a restraint, and was arrested at 12:20 a.m. Sept. 20, at Northwest Highway and Illinois Route 53. Bond was set at $2,500 and a court date of Oct. 28 was assigned.

INCIDENTS

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

An employee reported at 9:30 p.m. Sept. 15, the theft of his company's trailer in the 100 block of E. Algonquin Road. A review of surveillance video showed an unknown white pick-up truck enter the parking lot, a person attached the trailer to the truck and sped away.

THEFT

  • A citizen called police to report that between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sept. 19, he locked his bike in a bike rack in the 2100 block of W. Northwest Highway. When he returned, the bike was gone. The bike is described as a GMC Denali 18 speed Roadster Mountain bike. The bike has 28-inch wheels and red handlebars, white and had the word Denali in black lettering on the frame. The value of the bike is $300.
  • A resident in the 700 block of W. Rand Road reported at 9:10 p.m. Sept. 25, he placed a bag of dog food, valued at $80, in the lobby while unloading his vehicle. When he returned, the bag of dog food was gone.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A resident of the 2600 block of N. Prindle Avenue called police on Sept. 20 to report that during the overnight hours, someone entered his unlocked Ford and stole coins. There is no suspect information at this time.
  • A resident of the 1400 block of E. Lillian Avenue reported that during the overnight hours of Sept. 20, someone entered her unlocked Chevrolet and took medication, mace, a switchblade and $60 in cash. There is no suspect information at this time.
  • A resident in the 7000 block of W. Algonquin Road called police to report that during the overnight hours of Sept. 21, someone broke the front passenger window and stole her Apple Airpods, valued at $150, and Apple Macbook, valued at $2,000. There is no suspect information at this time.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

A resident of the 700 block of W. Algonquin Road reported that during the overnight hours of Sept. 20, someone stole two catalytic converters off his 2021 Isuzu. The cost to replace the catalytic converters is unknown.

BURGLARY

A citizen called police at 2:55 a.m. Sept. 21, to report someone entered the property and stole scrap metal and structure steel, valued at $43,000, in the 700 block of E. Rand Road. The subjects then forced entry in to the building and stole approximately $2,000 in tools. Surveillance video shows two vehicles puling trailers enter the parking lot. One vehicle was a large dump truck and the other a white pick-up truck.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A citizen reported at 8:58 p.m. Sept. 22, she saw a Black male, between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot, around 20-30 years of age, wearing light blue jeans and a blue puffer jacket with a yellow stripe across the chest, crouched near her 2022 silver Nissan in the 400 block of E. Seegers Road. The subject appeared to be attempting to gain entry with an unknown tool. The victim sounded the car alarm and the subject fled north bound. A review of the car revealed scratches on the front passenger door.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

A citizen reported that between 10:35 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. Sept. 25, she was refueling her vehicle when two cars pulled up next to her in the 1800 block of S. Arlington Heights Road. One subject exited a vehicle, approached her with a handgun near his waist, and "racked" it. To "rack" a gun is to grip the slide and pull it all the way back, then release it, according to wordreference.com. The suspect then reentered the vehicle and left the area. The suspect is described as a male, 20-30 years old, wearing a baseball hat, unknown colored sweatshirt, jeans and boots.
