Man Recorded Boy In Woodfield Mall Restroom: Schaumburg Police

SCHAUMBURG, IL — A Rolling Meadows man was arrested after police said he used his cellphone to video and audio record a boy urinating inside a Woodfield Mall restroom.

Samuel Nutt, 54, was charged with one count of unauthorized video recording of a minor, a Class 3 felony, according to Schaumburg police.

Police said officers responded at about 8:30 p.m. June 26, to investigate a report of a suspicious person videotaping a juvenile. Officers determined Nutt used his personal cellphone to record a male juvenile urinating in the bathroom stall directly next to him, according to Commander Christy Lindhurst.

Nutt was taken into custody at the scene, police said.

The Schaumburg Police Department tells Patch it is aware of a video circulating online that was captured in the men's restroom.

After investigating the incident, officers worked with the Cook County State’s Attorney's Office to secure approval of the felony charge, police said.

Nutt appeared at a detention hearing Monday at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse. His next court date is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 24 at the same courthouse, according to police.
