Man Shot In Neck While Driving In Parking Lot: Palatine PD

The Friday night incident in the 1200 block of E. Dundee Road remains under investigation.

PALATINE, IL — A 29-year-old man was shot in the back of his neck Friday night while driving through a parking lot. He was taken to an area hospital by the Palatine Fire Department for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police said an investigation is ongoing, with preliminary evidence suggesting the shooting may be gang-related.

Police responded to the 1500 block of N. Rand Road at around 8:42 p.m. Friday following a report of shots fired and a person shot. Police believe the man and a woman were driving through a parking lot in the 1200 block of E. Dundee Road when the shooting occurred. They then drove to a parking lot in the 1500 block of N. Rand Road, where police found them.
