Neighbors to Luxury Home Development Upset Over Tree Demolition

Should hundreds of trees be cut down to make way for 13 luxury homes in Arlington Heights?

Residents living near the proposed development, which will be located on a proposed street located off East Olive Street and between Rand Road and Dryden Avenue, do not want to see the 1,070 trees on the five-acre site demolished, according to the Daily Herald.

But the developer, Jon Isherwood of Hovnanlan, said he plans to add over 100 “high-quality” trees back to the property, the newspaper reports.

The Arlington High village board on Monday approved the preliminary plan by the developer, which include 13 homes on an average lot size of 3/4 acres and with a starting price of $850,000, according to the article.
