Pair Open Driver's Door, Steal Satchel With $5K Inside: Arlington Heights PD Blotter

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information comes from the Arlington Heights Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

ARRESTS

VIOLATION OF BAIL BOND

  • Laura R. Baumann, 32, of the 300 block of S. Emerson, Arlington Heights, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested and charged with three counts at 4:44 p.m. Aug. 20, in the 800 block of W. Central Road.
  • Sunny L. Ladehoff, 28, of the 1200 block of Ridgeland Avenue, Berwyn, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 8:23 p.m. Aug. 29, in the 3700 block of N. Wilke Road.
  • Marvin Salado Genchi, 18, of the 1500 block of Crimson Lane, Palatine, had a warrant for violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Aug. 16, in the 2300 block of S. Arlington Heights Road.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Daniel H. Fisher, 53, of the 100 block of E. Willow Street, Arlington Heights, is accused of criminal damage to property, criminal trespass to a building, and was arrested at 1:33 p.m. Aug. 15, at Walgreens. He was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 25.

BATTERY

Steven A. Heydenburg, 35, of the 400 block of W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of battery, disorderly conduct, and was arrested at 10:16 p.m. Aug. 15, in the 400 block of W. Algonquin Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 2.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Surjit S. Randhava, 83, of the 40 block of S. Ridge Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 4:19 p.m. Aug. 18, in the 1700 block of W. Campbell Street. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 2.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee at Goodwill, 900 W. Algonquin Road, reported at 4:10 p.m. Aug. 11, two Hispanic men, in their 20s, stole hooded sweatshirts and t-shirts. They left in an older model Honda Civic.
  • An employee at Kohl's, 800 W. Dundee Road, called police at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 16, to report someone had stolen $230 worth of clothing. The person was described as a white female, in her early 30s, about 5-foot-6, weighing around 160 pounds, wearing a green shirt, black shorts, and black shoes, with tattoos on her back.

ROBBERY

A citizen reported at 5:47 p.m. Aug. 13, that while driving his silver Toyota, a white Ford F-150 with blue racing stripes cut him off, causing the citizen to stop his car at Windsor Drive and Dryden Avenue. Both occupants of the Ford exited the car, opened the door of the Toyota and stole the victim's satchel, which contained around $5,000. Both occupants were described as Hispanic males with curly black hair, 20 to 25 years old, wearing black t-shirts and black athletic pants.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

A resident of the 800 block of W. Hintz Road reported that during the overnight hours of Aug. 14, someone had stolen his white Kia.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A resident in the 2400 block of N. Pine Avenue reported that someone had damaged the rear screen door and access door on his house.

THEFT

A citizen reported that between 12:15 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 17, someone had stolen his yellow Viribus tricycle, which had left near the main entrance at Walgreens, 1000 E. Northwest Highway.

BURGLARY

A resident in the 1500 block of E. Central Road called police to report that between Aug. 14 and Aug. 17, someone had forcibly entered her storage unit and stole a computer and monitor.
