Palatine Police Hosting First-Ever National Night Out Event

The event is designed to promote strong community partnerships and enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement.

PALATINE, IL — For the first time, the Palatine Police Department is set to be part of National Night Out, scheduled for next Wednesday. The nationwide, annual event is designed to promote strong community partnerships and enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement.

"We're excited to bring National Night Out to Palatine for the very first time," Deputy Chief David Brandwein said. "It's a great opportunity to meet the officers who serve our community, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the spirit of public safety together."

National Night Out will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 6, at the Palatine Park District's Falcon Park, 2195 N. Hicks Road. The event is free and family-friendly.

Communities across the country participate in this evening of fun, food, and connection — with a shared goal of making neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.

  • Police and fire vehicle displays
  • Interactive safety demonstrations
  • Giveaways (While supplies last) and kids’ activities
  • Food vendors and refreshments
  • Live music and entertainment
  • Community partner booths and resources

Community partners and organizations, along with local businesses, will also be on hand to support the event and provide valuable information and services to attendees.

Parking is free at the event open to all Palatine resident, as well as neighboring communities.
